Our Newcastle fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to seeing what the rest of the window has in store for them though it’s more than likely the club is not going to actually sign anyone.
Indeed, it’s more out of hope than expectation that Magpies fans are keeping their fingers on the transfer pulse at the moment and whilst we wait to see if anyone does arrive, it looks as though Tim Krul could be off again.
The Dutch goalkeeper was out on loan last season from the club and now it looks like he could be off on a loan deal once again – this time to Brighton.
Indeed, that is per Keith Downie on Twitter who has recently revealed the news and now we’ll have to wait and see if it gets confirmed:
Brighton have made a loan offer to Newcastle for goalkeeper Tim Krul.

There could be a late move for the stopper, then, with it looking likely that if he did stay at Newcastle he’d be stuck on the bench for the rest of the campaign.
It remains to be seen, then, if the two recently promoted sides reach an agreement.
Landlord’s Verdict
Krul is a good player and would likely be an asset to Brighton who still need to bring in someone to really replace David Stockdale.
Recent signing Matt Ryan has not been massively strong in goal so far this season and so it’ll be up to Newcastle whether they decide to offer help to the Seagulls.
