Newcastle United: Allan Saint-Maximin statistic alarms some supporters

Since losing their first game since late November in a 1-0 defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday, supporters have since gasped at a recent statistic surrounding Magpies star winger Allan Saint-Maximin – with the revelation that they haven’t won a single game without the Frenchman starting.

Chris Wood scored the only goal of the game as Newcastle United fell to their first loss since a 2-0 humbling at Aston Villa, bringing many supporters back down from cloud nine and forcing them to face a potential reality that they have a lack of goalscorers in the forward positions.

In particular, Steve Bruce’s side looked like they missed a great deal of flair – usually provided by Saint-Maximin on the right-hand side – but unfortunately, they will be without his services for another few weeks as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

Taking that into account, supporters have reacted pessimistically to just how poorly they seem to do without him – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
