Several Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to show wide man Valentino Lazaro some love following his cameo against Southampton on Saturday.
The 23-year-old was brought on for Javier Manquillo in the second half and managed to make some decent contributions on the pitch as the Magpies went on to win 1-0 at St. Mary’s. In the limited time he was given by manager Steve Bruce, according to WhoScored, he was still able to win one tackle and complete a dribble.
Lazaro also completed 13 of the 15 passes he attempted, giving him an 87% pass success rate. The Austria international will now be hoping to start Newcastle’s next game against Sheffield United, with his solid cameo perhaps giving Bruce something to think about.

And it appears that Newcastle fans would like to see just that as some jumped on Twitter to call for his inclusion in the starting XI. “Has to start”, one supporter simply said.
