Some Newcastle United fans are buzzing as the Tyneside club’s prospective owners apparently want to sign Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly if they are allowed to buy the Magpies by the Premier League.
As per Sky Sports, the central defender is likely to leave Naples in the summer transfer window and could be interested in a move to the North East if the takeover from the Saudi-led consortium goes through.
The Magpies have the potential to become one of the biggest clubs in the world under new owners and that economic power could convince Koulibaly to accept the challenge of a move to St James’ Park.
Indeed, the 28-year old has impressed so far this season and would be a statement signing if a deal goes through. Koulibaly wins 6.1 duels per Serie A game, and also averages 2.8 clearances, 2.6 tackles and 1.1 interceptions, according to Sofascore.

Koulibaly is on a complete different level. He’d walk straight past them and make them kiss his feet
