Newcastle United: Fans concede ‘Mike Ashley wins’ following season ticket revelation

After Newcastle United announced that they were reducing season ticket prices, making the second half of the campaign free, some fans reacted hesitantly to the news as they potentially thought it was a ploy to get them back in St. James’ Park – and this new statistic proves it may have worked.

Despite having their best half of a season in years, with new manager Steve Bruce guiding them to a comfortable mid-table spot after a fine run of form, some supporters have still exercised their right to protest given the controversial nature of Mike Ashley’s infamous ownership.

However, after a revelation from Chronicle reporter Lee Ryder, one that states the majority of half season tickets have been snapped up by supporters, it could mean that Ashley is on his way to filling St. James’ Park back up for the second half of the campaign.

Magpie supporters have responded in gloom to the news on Twitter.
