Jetro Willems has arguably been one of Newcastle United’s best players this season after signing on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer, endearing himself to the Geordie faithful with energetic performances and eye for the occasional screamer – highlighted during his phenomenal impact at the weekend.

Raheem Sterling’s sweet opener looked to be the start of another demolition at the hands of Manchester City, with supporters inevitably waiting on the flurry of goals against them given their attacking quality, but defender Willems had something else to say entirely – feeding off Miguel Almiron’s pass and cutting in field to drive a superb shot past the outstretched Ederson.
This isn’t the first time he’s came out with a strike right out the top draw either, with the Dutchman firing an unstoppable shot past Alisson at Anfield earlier on in the season.
