Following back-to-back wins for the first time this season, you’d think losing the skipper would be the last thing fans want, but some Magpies have had a surprising reaction to an update on Jamaal Lascelles.
Steve Bruce’s side, following a poor run of just two 1-0 wins all season against Tottenham and Manchester United, have secured some much-needed victories – with five goals in their last two outings.

After beating West Ham 3-2 at the London Stadium and Bournemouth 2-1 at St. James’ Park, games where defenders scored four in total, it’s clear their forwards still have problems finding the net, while their backline looks the strongest it has done in months.
DeAndre Yedlin and Ciaran Clark dragged the Magpies back from a goal down to win at the weekend, and with Federico Fernandez also scoring against West Ham whilst performing impeccably, fans have found lots of positives when confronted with Lascelles’ most recent injury update.
According to a report from The Chronicle, Lascelles could be out until after Christmas following a knee injury sustained in the win over Bournemouth – with supporters finding plenty of positives to his absence.
