Newcastle United star Miguel Almiron finally opened his account for the club last Saturday in their last-gasp 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace, prompting a huge emotional reaction from Magpies supporters across the land – and this latest club post has given them the opportunity to hail the player even more.
The Paraguayan, who moved to Tyneside for a record-breaking fee last January, has had to wait almost a year to get off the mark for Steve Bruce’s side – and his dramatic late winner arguably proved it was worth the wait.
Almiron’s steady improvement has seemingly won over a portion of Newcastle’s fan base with a trip to Manchester United next on the agenda for the Boxing Day kick-offs, and the club’s post has drawn even more praise for the 25-year-old.
Bruce’s selection for the Old Trafford clash is likely to include Almiron, who also registered his first assist in their 2-2 draw with Premier League champions Man City back in late November.
Here’s how fans lauded the ace on Twitter.
Great goal. Enjoy Xmas and here’s to a brilliant 2020 for you and NUFC. Supporters have your back.
