After securing consecutive victories for the first time this season, winning three out of their last five league games, Newcastle United seem to be on the rise following a detrimental start to the campaign.
Indeed, the Magpies had previously just two 1-0 wins against the likes of Spurs and Manchester United to show for their efforts so far this season – but after a flurry of five goals in their last two outings – their luck could be changing rapidly.
Of course, they’re by no means out of the woods yet, with four of those five goals coming from defenders who are unlikely to be prolific every weekend, but a rare uptick in form could be a major confidence booster ahead of a long season.
Newcastle fans were also ecstatic (and possibly sarcastic) when presented with a statistic from the Premier League’s official Twitter account, which stated the Magpies have secured seven points out of a possible nine over their last three league outings.
