Newcastle United: Fans hail ‘underrated’ Joelinton after Twitter thread

After succumbing to their second loss in a row for the first time since the start of the campaign, falling to a 2-1 loss at home to Everton, many Newcastle United supporters have picked out an ‘underrated’ hero from the bunch in the form of polarising figure Joelinton.

The Brazilian, who signed from Hoffenheim in the summer for a club record £40 million fee, has failed to impress so far in the goalscoring department – bagging just one all season, which came away to Spurs back in August.

However, at least according to some Magpies supporters, the 23-year-old is being given too much of a hard time by his critics – with many fans highlighting what he brings all round to Steve Bruce’s side apart from just trying to find the net.

Of course, Joelinton’s primary focus should be scoring, but after fairly decent performances away to Man United and against Everton, these fans are starting to see his overall merits, with the below thread highlighting his performances in Germany and isolation at Newcastle.
