After a phenomenal result at the weekend which saw Newcastle United nick a dramatic point against the Premier League champions, Steve Bruce’s side found out who awaited them in the FA Cup third round – and supporters couldn’t resist having a dig at Sunderland once finding out their path.
Just getting over the brilliant 2-2 draw at home to Manchester City, a match where the Magpies equalised in each half to seal an unlikely result, Bruce’s men found out they will face either Rochdale or Boston United away from home in the FA Cup third round.

Rochdale are currently plying their trade in League One with Newcastle’s arch rivals Sunderland, while Boston United are three points off a top four place in National League North.
As a result, taking particular notice of Rochdale, Magpies supporters have used the draw as an opportunity to have a dig at the Black Cats given their recent struggles in England’s third division, whilst also reminding them they were knocked out in the first round.
