Loads of Newcastle United supporters have been reacting on social media after former Toon man Michael Chopra issued a brutal verdict on Steve Bruce’s side, after the Magpies were demolished 5-0 at Leicester City.

The result was Newcastle’s fourth defeat in seven Premier League games under Bruce, and leaves the North East outfit with the second-worst goal difference in the top-flight having scored just four goals to the 13 conceded.
By this stage of last season, the Magpies were also in the bottom three with only the would-be relegated duo of Cardiff City and Huddersfield Town getting off to worse starts than the Toon were under Rafa Benitez, who did not see a favourable run begin until November when they took three wins from three.
Benitez’s Magpies also scored just four goals to the ten shipped in their opening seven Premier League fixtures of the 2018/19 term, but the manner of their performances under Bruce has left Chopra underwhelmed and questioning the intentions of those wearing the Black and White shirt.
Taking to his personal Twitter account after Leicester thrashed Newcastle, Chopra claimed: “Starting to think, after watching that performance, are the players really playing for Steve Bruce?

Not only were Newcastle beaten comprehensibly at Leicester, the Magpies were also dominated for the second fixture in succession, with the Foxes holding possession for 69.1% of the encounter at the King Power Stadium just a week after Brighton & Hove Albion enjoyed 71.3% of the ball at St. James’ Park, per WhoScored data.
Newcastle only fashioned three shots against the Foxes, too, while only recording five touches in the Leicester box – none of which were by £40million man Joelinton (BBC) or £21m January arrival Miguel Almiron (Guardian).
