Many Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been reacting to a video of the remarkable solo goal scored in training by summer signing Allan Saint-Maximin.

In the video posted on the player’s Twitter account, Saint-Maximin, who was brought in for £16.5m from OCG Nice, displays the kind of ability that proves why the Magpies invested heavily in the 22-year-old.
The France under-21 international picks up the ball out on the left-wing, turns on the ball and instantly embarks on a direct, diagonal run, skipping past four of the Newcastle backline on his way before burying the ball in the far corner from the right-hand side of the box.
That ability to dribble at such pace towards defenders fearing nothing is one of his key strengths and judging by this clip, when he’s fit and raring to go, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t attempt it in a game situation. Indeed, he already has the club’s second-highest dribbles tally (with 1.7 per game via WhoScored) despite his limited involvement in the Premier League this season due to injury.
Lots of fans were loving the clip; here are some of the reactions…
