Newcastle United: Fans revel in Sunderland’s misery as Burton win again

There were celebrations from people such as Jordan Pickford following Newcastle United’s relegation from the Premier League back in 2016 but a fan-made video from a few Black Cats is now doing the round for all the wrong reasons.

Indeed, a clip emerged on Twitter showing a few Sunderland fans claiming they’d be top of the Championship if they were playing teams the calibre of Rotherham and Burton Albion during the time the Toon were, with one saying he’d rather see his side LOSE in the Premier League than win in the second tier.

Well, following the loss at home to the aforementioned Brewers last night that left them marooned and closer to the League One relegation zone than the top spot, that video was jumped upon by a number of Magpies supporters, who are having the last laugh as it stands.

Ironically enough, it was Burton too who relegated Sunderland from the Championship in 2018, rubbing salt into the wounds.
