According to a report from the Daily Telegraph, Newcastle United are in the hunt for three players in January, specifically Adam Lallana, Dwight McNeil and Genk striker Mbwana Samatta – with some Magpies supporters laughing off the ambitious approaches.

Steve Bruce’s side have had an unexpectedly positive start to the campaign, picking up unlikely results against the likes of Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United, but they’ve also been short of goals in the forward department – with the preferred front three of Allan Saint-Maximin (injured), Joelinton and Miguel Almiron bagging a combined three goals since the start of the season.
That has forced Bruce to start alternative options like Andy Carroll in a bid to bolster their presence up front, but according to this report, Newcastle could be about to launch an attack in January.
Lallana, who has been linked with a move away from Liverpool, McNeil and Samatta have all proven to be brilliant attacking prospects – but supporters feel the chance of landing them is second to none.
Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
Pipe dream, we’ve got nee chance with any of them

All Bruce has to do is sell our best players to sign one decent one though…Mike Ashley idea of investing in Newcastle Utd right there

Another @LukeEdwardsTele scoop eh? Not a single quote from Bruce to validate the article. I’d prefer to see Bruce publicly challenging Ashley to spend in January. I think I’d have a bit more respect for him if he did but I suspect he won’t.
