Newcastle United: Fans show love for Andy Carroll after Joelinton message

Since being at the mercy of a 5-0 thrashing from Leicester City, Steve Bruce’s side have picked up two wins from four games – with the latest of them being a 3-2 thriller at West Ham.

It’s no secret that some have criticised Newcastle’s ability going forward, but after their goal haul in East London, there could be hope on the horizon.

Two quickfire headed efforts from Ciaran Clark and Federico Fernandez gave the Magpies a 2-0 lead inside half an hour, with Allan Saint-Maximin finding himself through on goal twice but failing to capitalise for the third.

Just six minutes into the second period, Jonjo Shelvey fired a stunning free-kick to give Bruce’s men a three goal advantage – with late strikes from West Ham’s Fabian Balbuena and Robert Snodgrass providing a little scare towards the end.

The result has proven massive, with Andy Carroll going on to praise the previously out-of-form Joelinton for his contribution on a brilliant afternoon going forward.
