Lots of Newcastle United fans have slammed former striker Les Ferdinand’s verdict on Joelinton after he shared his views to ChronicleLive.
The 53-year old is convinced that the Brazilian will prove to be a success at St James’ Park, and thinks that he has all of the attributes needed to succeed in England. Ferdinand added that he thinks that Joelinton will come back stronger if he is given the chance. He summed up by asking the supporters to get behind the potentially ‘real asset’ and noted that he works hard for the team and deserves support.
Ferdinand managed to score 45 goals in just 74 appearances on Tyneside, meaning that he scored in over 60 per cent of games he played in, according to Transfermarkt. On the other hand, Joelinton’s strike rate is nowhere near as impressive so far. The 23-year old has only managed three goals in 34 appearances in all competitions this season, meaning that he scores roughly once every 11 matches or so, as per the website.
The £18 million-rated man has failed to convince these Magpies that Ferdinand’s comments are justified, and they made this known on Twitter:
No he doesn't
