Responding to a clip that shows an Everton player heading the ball over before winning a corner, many Newcastle United fans have protested against official Lee Mason over his contribution to their team’s second loss in a row.
The Magpies fell 2-1 at home to a rejuvenated Everton over the weekend, sealing their second consecutive Premier League defeat after they were also on the wrong end of a 4-1 trouncing at Old Trafford on Boxing Day – leading to Steve Bruce’s side’s two-game run of defeats for the first time since the very start of the season.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave the away side a crucial advantage when he prodded home a ricocheted free-kick from close range before centre-back Fabian Schar equalised for the hosts with a cool finish.
Not long afterwards, Everton were in the ascendancy again, picking out Calvert-Lewin to regain the lead after dispossessing Andy Carroll on the halfway line.
