Newcastle United is not a happy club at the moment and they haven’t been for a while under the ownership of Mike Ashley. Ahead of their Premier League opener against Arsenal, there were protests against their owner and now the fans have been having their say over what to do next.
If boycott isn’ it. If a protest isn’t it. If NUST isn’t it. Then what is? Do we take what Mike Ashley does and says on the chin? Do we just shake our fists one day and be happy about things the next? Is that ok? These are genuine questions, not digs. Give us your thoughts. #NUFC

The BBC report, that’s been linked above, claimed that between 50 and 100 fans marched to St. James’ Park carrying banners calling for Ashley to sell the club.
After Rafa Benitez’s exit back in late June, supporters were up in arms (as highlighted by the Daily Express), and whilst the club have opted to bring back a local boy in Steve Bruce to take them forward, fans on Twitter remain discontent and have all been discussing the best way to apply pressure on Ashley following the recent protest.
You can read the Magpies’ verdict on what to do next here:
Boycott IS the way. People just won’t ever be convinced to do it. A near empty stadium and no money spent in the stadium or on merchandise – he’d be gone within weeks

I think, unfortunately, the only thing we can do is ride the storm…however long it may be.

Boycott every game. The owner hates it, why else do they spend so much time trying to sway the support with their digs at Rafa, bringing back a “local hero”, spending money they wouldn’t give Rafa.
The NUST! Pointless if the members vote for boycott & the leaders attend anyway.— vic bates (@victorbates) August 12, 2019
Been saying for a while that it’ll take the extreme acts of the overtly passionate few to oust him.
Other clubs have ultras, people with sway and individuals that are respected and listened too. We can’t even raise a supportive flag without it turning into civil war.

Pitch invasion is probably our best chance on getting the media attention like West Ham, Blackpool and Leyton Orient did

Start ripping those daft sports direct signs down and the back of the east stand

The only option I can see is we did what Leyton Orient and Blackpool did. Invade the pitch and do a sit down protest. It’ll get the media’s attention and Ashley will be put in a bad light. Fans won’t have to boycott aswell
