Responding to a tweet by Shxlvey, football fans were in full discussion over Newcastle United potentially selling Sean Longstaff – with a report from ESPN claiming that Manchester United could revamp their willingness to snatch the midfielder for a good price.

Longstaff, who amassed an 80.9% pass success rate in nine overall Premier League appearances last campaign, was also on the Red Devils’ radar last summer when they were in the search of more attacking midfielders – and now the club could reignite their interest in bringing Longstaff to Old Trafford.
Compared to current midfield favourites Fred and Scott McTominay (injured), it appears the Englishman has a somewhat lesser presence in the centre of the park – with Fred, in particular, averaging more successful passes this season – meanwhile McTominay has managed more goals.
For Newcastle, Jonjo Shelvey and Isaac Hayden have featured far more often this season and Chronicle journalist Andrew Musgrove recently noted how he was playing at ‘nowhere near’ the level he was last season.
As a result, football supporters have lauded the potentially amazing business if Newcastle manage to pull off the sale – taking to Twitter with their opposing verdicts.
