A takeover of Newcastle United by Henry Mauriss is now looking more and more unlikely as The Chronicle have reported that Mike Ashley is now losing patience with the American.
As per the outlet, the chief executive of Sports Direct could move on to other would-be buyers soon as he grows increasingly impatient with Mauriss.

Ashley is understood to have told the television mogul that he will not get a better chance to take over a club from the Premier League than this.
Indeed, Mauriss is understood to be in constant talks with Ashley to try and push through a takeover, as the latter has reportedly challenged him to make an official bid.
However, there has been no news of this and with the new 2020/21 season just around the corner, coupled up with the fact that the summer transfer window is officially open, perhaps Mauriss needs to get a move on if he is serious about wanting to take over at St. James’ Park.
He may also face some strong competition from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian (KSA) group, he have now made their intentions clear that they would like their own £300 million deal with Ashley to go through, but are pending further clarity and cooperation from the Premier League.
However, it is firmly in the hands of the top flight and its CEO Richard Masters as to whether they make any effort to communicate with the Saudi-led consortium.

Nevertheless, time may be running out for both sets of potential buyers if they would like to take over in the North East.
