Newcastle United have reportedly made a move to try and sign Omar Colley from Sampdoria before this month’s transfer window shuts.
As per Primo Canale, the St. James’ Park faithful have come forward recently in order to try and secure his signature, with the Serie A team not indifferent to the idea of letting him go to get some cash for him before the January window closes.

However, the Tyneside club may face possible competition from Fenerbahce, and so may need to act fast if they want to bring him to the North East.
Colley could be a good signing for Newcastle
Colley could well turn out to be a good signing for Steve Bruce’s team as he should be able to sure them up defensively.

The Magpies have conceded no fewer than 34 goals in just 20 games in the Premier League so far in the 2020/21 term, the fourth-most in the division behind West Brom, Leeds United and Crystal Palace (BBC Sport).
Meanwhile, Colley has been a bit of a rock in the Serie A so far this season, showing he loves to get stuck in by winning 4.7 of his duels a game in the Italian top flight and also averaging 4.1 clearances, 2.4 interceptions and 1.1 tackles per match (Sofascore).
The Gambia international has already shown that he can play in a top league and with a six foot two frame and stats that show a combative player by nature, the 28-year-old should be able to cope with the physical demands of the PL, should he make the move to the Toon before the window closes.
