Newcastle United are reportedly lining up a transfer move for Tottenham Hotspur ace Ryan Sessegnon in the summer window, according to The Sun.
As per the outlet, Steve Bruce is said to offer him a way out of Spurs as he looks to buy a core of British players in bulk.
The transfer budget of the Tyneside club is thought to be only around £35 million following the collapse of the proposed takeover in the North East, meaning that the Magpies will have to be more careful with the money that they spend in the market.
As a result, Bruce is looking at the possibility of taking Sessegnon on loan for the new 2020/21 season, as it is also believed that he tops the list of targets set by the former Premier League winner.
The England Under-21 international did not enjoy the best of debut campaigns in North London, having only played in 12 games in all competitions over the course of the whole term, scoring just one goal and making a mere assist (via Transfermarkt).
Thus, he may be looking for a way out of the Lilywhites in order to gain more regular first-team football.
St. James’ Park may be the destination for him, and if he can replicate the form that he showed while playing for Fulham, then Sessegnon could well be a decent bit of business by the Magpies.
However, Allan Saint-Maximin plays in his position on the left side of midfield, so perhaps his game-time may be limited again.
Would Sessegnon start for Newcastle?
Yes
No
Nevertheless, at 20 years of age, the youngster still has a lot of time to develop and even learn from Saint-Maximin, and playing for the Toon may give him some valuable experience for the future.
