Allan Saint-Maximin has dropped a very exciting three-word message from his official Twitter account after Newcastle United teased his return.
The St. James’ Park faithful tweeted (via @NUFC) a picture of a Magpies player’s legs controlling a ball on the training pitch with a caption of a crown emoji and the words ‘back soon’, to which Saint-Maximin quoted (via @asaintmaximin), confirming that the picture was of him, with the caption ‘I’m back baby’.
The Magpies later released more images, showing that the Frenchman is indeed ‘back’.
Saint-Maximin return a big boost to Newcastle
The return of Saint-Maximin to Steve Bruce’s team will definitely be a big boost for the Tyneside club.
Would Saint-Maximin leave if the Newcastle takeover is not completed?
The Toon have clearly missed him, having not won in their last eight games in all competitions now without him in the side.
They lost a genuine chance of a domestic trophy in the defeat at Brentford and have picked up just two points from their last six matches in the Premier League in games where the 23-year-old may well have added a creative spark.
In the top flight this season, he was winning no fewer than 7.6 of his duels a game while also averaging 3.6 successful dribbles per appearance, before his illness (Sofascore).
The France international will surely slot straight back into the side upon his return, with the Gunners NUFC’s next opponents in the top flight on Monday night.
