Newcastle United: Fabian Schar deals injury blow

Newcastle United have been dealt a big injury blow as Fabian Schar has confirmed on his official Twitter page that he ‘will be out for a few months’.
The Switzerland international picked up an injury in the Tyneside club’s 3-2 win at St. James’ Park versus Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and he has now since confirmed the bad repercussions of it.
Schar injury a big blow to Newcastle
The injury to Schar that will now likely keep him out for the rest of the 2020/21 term is no doubt a big blow to Steve Bruce’s team.
Should Schar be a regular for Newcastle?
Yes

No

The central defender had established himself as a regular starter for his side having played in the last five games in the top flight, but now the Magpies will have to find a way to cope without him for the foreseeable future.
Schar was winning no fewer than 3.1 of his duels a match in the division this season and also averaged 3.1 clearances and 1.6 interceptions per appearance (Sofascore), highlighting his defensive qualities for the team.
However, the Toon will have to cope without the 29-year-old as the North East club look to ease off any potential worries of relegation down to the EFL Championship, as Bruce will now aim for a strong finish for the rest of the campaign.
