Plenty of Everton fans have been slamming Miguel Almiron for his very poor display versus Southampton in the Premier League.
The St. James’ Park faithful lost the game 2-0 thanks to goals from Che Adams early on in the first half and Stuart Armstrong late on in the second for the Saints, which saw Ralph Hasenhuttl’s team climb up to first place in the top flight.
Should Almiron be starting for Newcastle?
It is safe to say that there were several poor performances from Steve Bruce’s side on the night, and a lot of NUFC supporters clearly thought that Almiron was one of them.
The Paraguay international was deemed the worst player on the pitch by Sofascore with a measly 5.2 overall rating, as he failed to register a single shot on target, key pass or cross, while also losing possession of the ball no fewer than 12 times throughout the match.
Newcastle fan reaction to Almiron display
These Magpies slammed the display of Almiron on Twitter, with one member of the Toon Army even claiming that the 26 year-old was ‘useless’:
What was he thinking there

If he didn’t have his head down as always, he might have seen a pass

Be turning this off soon. Awful.

Useless, notice all the defence screaming at him afterward

Pathetic awful play. We haven’t started yet
