Newcastle United face competition from some of their rivals in the Premier League to sign Kieron Evans, according to Wales Online.
As per the news outlet, the St. James’ Park faithful are one of a number of clubs in the English top flight who are actively monitoring the ‘exciting’ talent, along with relegation rivals Burnley, Sheffield United and West Brom.
Should Newcastle sign Evans?
It is understood that Evans is ‘thought of very highly‘ by academy figureheads and those working within the first team at Cardiff City, however, there is no desire for him to leave the EFL Championship club.
Evans could be one for the future at Newcastle
Steve Bruce’s team should definitely take up the opportunity to sign Evans if he were to become available to add some fresh talent onto their books.
While the 19-year-old has not actually made his debut yet in the senior side, he has been in and around the matchday squads for the Bluebirds, which will only add to his experience.
He can also play both as an attacking midfielder and a winger, showing his versatility, which could be a vital asset to have as he gets older and matures.
Nonetheless, the North East club will have to fend off the competition from their top flight rivals if they want to get a hold of his signature.
