Newcastle United: Keith Downie drops Brandon Williams transfer update

Keith Downie has dropped a transfer update on Newcastle United and their pursuit of Manchester United star Brandon Williams.
Speaking on Sky Sports News, via @NUFC360 on their Twitter page, the journalist claimed that the St. James’ Park faithful would ‘not need to lose someone to bring in Brandon Williams on loan’ and added that ‘he (Steve Bruce) is looking for a left-back’.
Should Newcastle sign Williams?
Yes

No

However, the Tyneside club could face competition from both Southampton and Bayer Leverkusen for his signature in this month’s window.
Williams could be a good signing for Newcastle
Williams could well turn out to be a good signing for the Magpies, even if it is just on a loan deal for the rest of the 2020/21 term.
He is able to play at both left-back and right-back, which could prove handy if Bruce were to find himself particularly short in that role.
The £9.9m-valued (Transfermarkt) star also has plenty of experience of playing in English football with the Red Devils, and even though he has only played in one game in the Premier League so far in the 2020/21 term, he made no fewer than 17 appearances in the top flight in the 2019/20 season, scoring one goal and making a further assist (Transfermarkt).
The Toon may have some competition on their hands, so if they are serious about signing the 20-year-old, then they should act quickly.
