Newcastle United: Magpies ‘closing in’ on Joe Willock transfer

Newcastle United are reportedly ‘closing in‘ on signing Joe Willock on a loan deal from Arsenal before Transfer Deadline Day ends, as per James Benge.
According to a tweet from the football journalist, the Emirates Stadium faithful are looking at trimming their squad ahead of the deadline, with the central midfield player thought to be one of those who would be allowed to leave Mikel Arteta’s team on loan.
Should Newcastle sign Willock?

Willock could be a good signing for Newcastle
Willock could definitely be a good signing for the St. James’ Park faithful, as he would certainly be able to offer them some fresh legs in the heart of the midfield.
A player who can drive forward with the ball, the 21-year-old would help in getting the Tyneside club higher up the pitch and thus give them more of a threat in attacking areas.
He also has plenty of experience playing in the Premier League and so would not have to adapt to the demands of the English top flight.
Currently valued at £14.4m by Transfermarkt, Willock could certainly turn out to be a good coup by Steve Bruce’s team, even if it is only on a loan deal for the rest of the 2020/21 term, providing that the Magpies can get a deal over the dotted line before the transfer deadline.
