Newcastle United have reportedly been left 'bewitched' by Amine Gouiri ahead of a potential move once the summer transfer window opens.

The Lowdown: Ekitike alternative?

The St James' Park club missed out on the signing of Hugo Ekitike on Transfer Deadline Day despite having a bid accepted by Reims, and so Chris Wood from Burnley was the only attacker that they managed to get through the door in January.

If the Magpies avoid relegation from the Premier League, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) consortium may well look to strengthen the club's forward department once more; and given their riches, a big name could be on the cards in the northeast.

The Latest: Gouiri eyed by Newcastle

As per Calciomercato, the Tyneside outfit have been 'bewitched' by Nouiri, as well as West Ham United and Paris Saint-Germain.

AC Milan are also in the mix for the Nice striker's signature, who has been compared to Karim Benzema in France.

The Verdict: Sign

After losing out on Ekitike, the Magpies should keep their focus in Ligue 1 regarding their next centre-forward signing in trying to land Gouiri.

The 22-year-old has 11 goals and seven assists in 28 games across all competitions so far this season (Kylian Mbappe, Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp.

Given his young age as well, Newcastle should look no further than to try and sign the £40.5m-rated marksman.
