Chelsea are enjoying a strong spell under Liam Rosenior, claiming eight victories from their first 11 matches across all competitions under the Englishman.
The squad looks far more cohesive than it did under former manager Enzo Marsca, with performances steadily improving.
Despite the positive run, the summer transfer window is set to be a pivotal period for the Blues.
Rosenior is expected to reshape his squad, offloading players who haven’t met expectations, recalling some loanees, and bringing in fresh talent.
One player now under the spotlight is Nicolas Jackson.
Jackson to Leave Chelsea in Summer
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided clarity on the future of Jackson, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich. While the striker has impressed during his temporary spell, Bayern are not expected to make the move permanent, meaning Jackson will return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Recent reports from Germany hinted that Jackson could reintegrate into Chelsea’s plans for next season, but Romano has challenged that suggestion.
As per quotes cited on X, he explained: “Remember Chelsea already signed a striker for the summer, [Emmanuel] Emegha, who is similar in terms of skills to Jackson, so that’s a point. Of course a change of manager means a possibility [Nicolas] Jackson stays, but my understanding is that it’s expected that different opportunities on the market will be explored, rather than staying.”
Jackson — once described as “fantastic” by former Blues star Joe Cole — has shown flashes of brilliance during his loan, proving capable on his day, but ultimately, he has fallen just short of the level Chelsea require for their first-team plans. A move away this summer appears to be the most likely path forward.
