‘Noisy neighbours’, ‘Manchester is blue’ - Man City fauns taunt United on Twitter following transfer update

The Manchester City fans in the Transfer Tavern are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Alexis Sanchez at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite City’s dominance in the Premier League and progression in all three cup-competitions this season, it appears that Pep Guardiola is still in the market for new talent this month. City have been linked with Alexis Sanchez since the summer transfer window, but as of yet, they have been unable to complete a deal that would see Sanchez and Guardiola reunited once again.

The pair worked together whilst they were both at Barcelona during the 2011/12 season, and there is a suggestion that Guardiola’s presence at City is one of Sanchez’s core motivations to move to Manchester this month.

However, after months of speculation strongly linking the Chile international with a move to City, Manchester United emerged as a surprise candidate to secure his signature yesterday.

According to The Daily Express, United have made a bid worth £25 million in an attempt to hijack City’s potential deal with Arsenal.

Although the news arrived as a concern to some City supporters, the majority reacted with hysteria to United’s bid for Sanchez and claimed that there was no way he would be choosing red over blue in Manchester this month.

And there were plenty of supporters who believe that United are merely attempting to force City to spend more money than they had initially planned to on their number one target.
