Nottingham Forest are still working on securing moves for both Lewis O'Brien and Harry Toffolo during the summer transfer window.

The Lowdown: Busy summer at Forest

Steve Cooper's side are busy preparing for their exciting return to the Premier League in 2022/23, with plenty of business happening in recent weeks.

A number of new faces have already come in, including the likes of Taiwo Awoniyi, Neco Williams and Omar Richards, as the Reds look to compete with the best teams in the country.

A new update suggests that Forest's summer spending isn't done just yet, though, coming after they reportedly made bids for two of Huddersfield's star men this week.

The Latest: Reds still 'in talks'

According to Football Insider, Forest are indeed actively working on signing both O'Brien and Toffolo, with no answer yet on the bids for the pair.

It is believed that talks are still 'ongoing' as the Reds look to get two more important additions to their squad over the line.

The Verdict: Shrewd potential business

While both O'Brien and Toffolo are both completely unproven at Premier League level, they have performed to a high standard for Huddersfield over a sustained period.

O'Brien has particularly stood out in the Terriers' midfield, starting all 46 Championship games last season and chipping in with six goal contributions (three goals and assist apiece), but Toffolo has also been a consistent figure at left-back. He scored six goals and registered eight assists, highlighting his attacking prowess.

Squad depth is vital for Forest as they begin life in arguably the toughest and most competitive league in the world, and the Huddersfield duo would provide Cooper with even more options in key areas.
