The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been batting away the rumours today that Steven N’Zonzi could be on his way to N17 this summer. According to Corriere Dello Sport, via Tuttomercatoweb, the Lilywhites want the Frenchman despite his 40 million euro release clause.

According to Correire Dello Sport, the club are interested in bringing in the former Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers star as a direct replacement for Mousa Dembele who is supposedly on his way out of the club this summer. The fans won’t be best pleased if Mauricio Pochettino replaces Dembele with N’Zonzi as they’re all in agreement that the Belgian maestro is ten-times the player that the Frenchman is.
Most summers see the 29-year-old Sevilla midfielder linked with a move to Tottenham’s bitter rivals, Arsenal. However, this window has seen things go down differently as the Frenchman could be making a huge move to play for Spurs in their first season at their new stadium. N’Zonzi could be a famous signing if he goes on to win silverware for the club, but most fans seem to think that won’t be happening as they don’t rate the midfielder as better than what they’ve already got.

Please don’t pay €40m for an average 29 year old

The Tottenham fans in the Tavern will all be hoping that they can be proved wrong if N’Zonzi signs as none of them think it would be a good move.
