One in, one out: The summer transfer business Chelsea simply must complete

The Chelsea fans here in the Tavern are looking forward to this season coming to an end, with Antonio Conte’s men failing to build on last season’s Premier League success and coming up short in their quest for the top four too.

The Blues have looked a shadow of their former selves, and some of the recent signings have been questionable to say the very least, something which has left Conte visibly frustrated with proceedings.

However, the summer of 2018 gives the club a chance to launch yet another rebuild, and whether we see Conte in charge or not, it is pretty much nailed on that the Stamford Bridge outfit will go out and add some stellar names to their squad.

There is though the case for some players already at the club to be moved on, and with that in mind, we’ve taken a look at one potential in and one potential out at Stamford Bridge this summer…

Out – Tiemoue Bakayoko

The summer signing from Monaco has been nothing short of a failure so far during his time with the Blues, and a move away just 12 months after joining would be no surprise at all.

The central midfielder has looked short of confidence, slow on the ball, and appears to have simply not adapted to life in the Premier League.

With the middle of the park such an important part of any team, it would come as no surprise to see Bakayoko moved on come the summer.

In – Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

If Bakayoko is to move on, then a replacement squad member will be needed, and what better player to bring in than Lazio star Milinkovic-Savic.

The Serbian is being courted by a whole host of clubs across Europe, but he could well be tempted to join Conte and Chelsea if the offer is there.

A player with the ability to dominate the middle of the park, Savic would be a superb addition at the Bridge if a deal can be concluded.

Blues fans, would you agree with this? Let us know in the comments!
