Metro have an interesting claim for us here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they note that one of Arsenal’s loanees could well be eyeing a return to the club.
Joel Campbell is now well known to most of our punters in the tavern after his wonder goal against Manchester United in the Red Devils’ shock 2-0 defeat to Olympiakos last night.
The Costa Rican international is now looking to build on his reputation that has been growing with each passing loan spell, and now wants to return to the Premier League.
He spoke ahead of last nights’ game in Athens and claimed: “As soon as Arsenal came, I wanted to join them and I believe I am ready to play for Arsenal next season.
“I know I have the capacity to play there. I am only waiting for the opportunity. With hard work I know I can get there.
“United showed an interest in me when I was moving to Europe but I have been an Arsenal fan since I was a child and that’s why I chose them.”
As one of our punters noted, if that is what he thought before the goal, we can only imagine what he thinks now in terms of his talent and suitability for the Premier League!
