Aston Villa have done what they could, behaved honourably and who could blame them for giving way to a disproportionate amount of filthy lucre for a chap that is at best, a quite good player.

As a Villa fan, Milner isn’t a dream purchase in the way you suggest,
What he is, is 100% wysiwyg. He does as he is told and will do it to the best of his ability, regardless of anything.
And he’s a player a manager can build a team around for years.
It’s no coincidence that we didn’t want to lose him at any price.
City fans will appreciate him and understand why they’ve paid the money, I guarantee it.
If he actually gets games, that is.
I did say it, he’s this year’s Lescott – I’d want someone like Iniesta or Torres for that money…
£20 Million for Milner plus Ireland, then in a years time when Mon gives Ireland the confidence and appreciation he craves back, £20 million + Milner from Man City to take him back after Milner doesn’t get off the bench, i’d put a tenner on it.

milner is worth no more than 13mil this is the biggest joke of a transfer i have ever seen ! martin oneil is an annoying sprite and i think he has just robbed man city but there again so did everton with lescott.
