Ones to watch: You need to keep your eyes peeled on these 2 Aston Villa starlets

The Aston Villa faithful have made their way to the Transfer Tavern today and, to make a change, they actually have something to look forward to.

Aston Villa have had a tough time of it for the past few seasons ever since their relegation from the Premier League.

The Claret and Blue finished 13th in the Championship last season whilst their fellow relegation counterparts Newcastle and Norwich finished first and eighth respectively.

It wasn’t the best start to the 2017/18 campaign either for Steve Bruce’s side.

Following a 1-1 draw at home to Hull, they currently sit in tenth place in the table but obviously, there is still quite a way to go.

Whilst the present looks pretty bleak for the famous club, their future could be a lot brighter as they have a few youngsters within their ranks who could, one day, lead the club back into the top-flight of English football.

With that being said, here are two Aston Villa youngsters you should keep your eye on….

Harvey Knibbs

The 18-year-old forward recently signed his first contract at Villa following a successful season in the u18 Premier League.

From the left wing, Harvey Knibbs scored 11 goals and provided two assists in all competitions for the youth side.

Now could be the perfect time to start incorporating the teenager into the first team at Villa to see what he could do at a higher level.

If he can start providing more assists, then Knibbs could be a valuable asset for Steve Bruce sooner rather than later.

Viktor Johansson

Villa’s 18-year-old keeper Viktor Johansson could be the long-term future of the club between the sticks, should he reach his potential.

Steve Bruce’s side have had their fair share of goalkeeping problems as of late that have recently been fixed by the re-signing of Sam Johnstone on a season long loan.

But Man United will likely want him back at some point to have another reliable backup at the club so the Swedish teenager could burst into the first team in the next few years.

He still has plenty of work to do in his development but there are plenty at the club who see the player as an exciting prospect.
