Man Utd’s left-back spot is an area needing improvement, and we recently made the suggestion that FC Augsburg defender Philipp Max would be the ideal solution.
The German is a creative master, having bagged a stunning 13 assists from left-back last season, and a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs is certainly deserved.
A whopping 98% of surveyed Man Utd fans have identified Max as the ideal replacement for Young, who is now 32-years-old.
Though an unknown name in England, Max has had a very strong spell over in Germany, and as his assist-rate highlights, the quality that he has with the ball at his feet is undeniable.
However, he’s also a solid defender and tackler, and you’d expect that to improve further under a manager like Jose Mourinho.
The left-back spot has been an area of real concern for our resident Red Devils, and whilst Max has yet to be identified by Mourinho himself, it’s clear that a move would be popular amongst fans.
