Talk of Zlatan Ibrahimovic making a return to Serie A has surfaced once again inside the Football Transfer Tavern, this time via sources at Sky Sports.
The Swedish international forward has only been at Paris Saint-Germain since the summer, but has admitted he is ‘flattered’ by reports linking him with a return to Serie A in which he thrived so often previously.
Italian champions Juventus are said to be interested, whilst AC Milan have also been linked, although the latter admitted a deal would be unlikely last week due to the fee and wages the 31-year-old forward would demand.
“If Juventus really want me, it would be an honour for me to play for them,” he told Sky Sports Italia. “They are a fantastic club with a great team and a great project.
“It’s an honour that they are interested in me, but at this time I am only thinking about PSG and winning the title with them.”
Like AC Milan previously, Juventus’ general director Giuseppe Marotta has moved to quash peculation linking Ibrahimovic with the club, revealing his high wage demands would again prove a stumbling block.
“Juventus, as well as other Italian teams simply cannot afford to buy Ibrahimovic,” Marotta claimed.
“He would have to cut his wages, but I don’t think it would be possible.”
Ibrahimovic is currently under contract with PSG until 2015, which makes his comments all the more surprising.
