The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are a demanding bunch. Not content with the signings of Ross Barkley and Emerson Palmieri, the Blues are now hoping for a few more deals on deadline day.
Indeed, it’s looking set to be a very busy day for a number of Premier League clubs, and Chelsea will be no different. A move for Olivier Giroud is looking increasingly likely, but it appears as though Chelsea supporters don’t want their spending to end there.
To the contrary, it appears as though they want the Chelsea brass to sanction what would likely be their most expensive deal of the season so far, and it involves Riyad Mahrez – who is rated at £27 million by Transfer Markt.
Currently playing for Leicester City, the Algerian midfielder has reportedly handed in a transfer request at the King Power Stadium, and so a move away from the club is not out of the question before the end of the day.
Chelsea haven’t really been linked with a move for him, but this is something that fans want to see change. Indeed, Chelsea supporters have taken to Twitter en masse to demand a move for Mahrez, even hijacking their side’s announcement of the signing of Emerson Palmieri to get their message across.
With one fan demanding that Chelsea ‘wake up’ and ‘show some ambition’, it’s a similar theme amongst most respondees…
