Manchester City have sent an official to Brazil as the Sky Blues eye exciting Palmeiras forward Endrick, according to reports.

The Lowdown: City starlets thriving…

The Premier League champions’ latest victory, a 3-1 win over Sevilla in their final Champions League group game, showcased some serious talent as Pep Guardiola dished out minutes to a few of his youngsters.

Rico Lewis enjoyed a memorable night on his first European start for the Sky Blues, with the 17-year-old defender becoming the club’s youngest-ever Champions League goalscorer, whilst fellow starlet and summer signing Julian Alvarez also got on the scoresheet.

The future looks bright for City’s glistening academy, although sporting director Txiki Begiristain is reportedly pondering the additions of yet more scintillating starlets.

The Latest: Man City run rule over Endrick…

According to reports, Guardiola’s side – and Begiristain by extension – had an official in attendance to run the rule over Palmeiras starlet Endrick last night as his side won 4-0 over Fortaleza to clinch the Brazilian league title.

ESPN stated (via Sport Witness) that, before the clash, a City official was going to watch the game as the Sky Blues take an interest in Endrick alongside European giants Real Madrid.

While there are no talks going on between City and Palmeiras, such is his potential that the report states that neither the English champions nor Los Blancos would be deterred by his €60m (£51m) release clause.

The Verdict: Promising talent…

Hailed as an ‘extremely talented‘ player by Palmeiras president Leila Pereira it’s hardly a surprise that City have taken note of his exploits across the Atlantic.

Even during Palmeiras’ 4-0 victory over Fortaleza, the 16-year-old put in a brilliant display and got on the scoresheet, converting 100% of his attempts on target and completing 100% of his dribbles (SofaScore).

Still very young (he doesn’t turn 17 until next July), the forward is certainly one to watch, having netted three times in his first five senior appearances for his club.
