Tottenham: Spurs could sign Scott for £20m

Tottenham target Alex Scott in action for Bristol City

Tottenham, Spurs, Premier League, Alex Scott. Antonio Conte

Bristol City would ‘find it hard to resist’ a £20 million bid for Alex Scott with Tottenham ‘pushing hard’ for his signature.

The Lowdown: Spurs eye move…

The Championship midfield sensation has been on Spurs’ radar since last year with reports suggesting that the club’s scouts have been keeping a watchful eye.

Those links have resurfaced this month as the Lilywhites take a keen interest in Scott, who is also wanted by a plethora of other Premier League clubs.

The Englishman is dazzling under Nigel Pearson at Ashton Gate with top flight sides very impressed by his Bristol City performances.

The Latest: Tottenham ‘pushing hard’ for Scott…

According to Football Insider, Spurs are now ‘pushing hard’ for Scott amid other interest.

They’re ‘firmly’ in the chase for his signing and while City value him at around £25m, it’s also believed they would ‘find it hard to resist’ a £20m offer.

Scott has just two years remaining on his contract, making the prospect of that figure pretty alluring.

The Verdict: Phenomenon…

Called ‘unbelievable‘ by Man City boss Pep Guardiola, the 19-year-old impressed him with a brilliant FA Cup display against the Blues in midweek.

Indeed, Scott blew away both Guardiola and esteemed members of the press during his side’s 3-0 defeat to the top flight champions.

David Ginola

How much did Spurs pay to sign future legend and fan favourite David Ginola?

Journalist Henry Winter explained how he is currently ‘flourishing’ at Bristol, a statement backed by some excellent stats this campaign.

As per WhoScored, the teenager ranks in their top three for key passes made and successful take-ons per 90 – all while attracting more fouls per 90 than any of his teammates.

The latter stat perhaps backs his comparisons with Man City record signing Jack Grealish, who is famous for winning free-kicks and frustrating opponents in that regard.
