Everton fans have found themselves disagreeing with BBC Sport pundit Samantha Quek after she suggested that the FA should scrap cup replays.
The Gwladys Street faithful watched on as their hated neighbours Liverpool drew 2-2 with Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup fourth round. They also listened to post-match reaction on BBC Radio 5 Live’s 606 show with Samantha Quek and Robbie Savage, with the Olympic gold medallist in Hockey getting into an argument with a Tranmere fan.
Quek, who is an avid Liverpool fan, believed that there should be two pots in the draw consisting of Premier League and Championship teams, and sides below that will represent another. This is due to the number of team fielding weakened sides against lower league opposition. In other competitions, this was not ignored. The Premier League fined Blackpool £25,000 after fielding a weakened team during a league match against Aston Villa in 2011.
