Everton fans can’t get enough of Mason Holgate, as the young defender produced another fine display in the win against Newcastle on Saturday.
The Toffees have now won two in two under Carlo Ancelotti, with the Italian overseeing an absolutely perfect start to his reign.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin has undoubtedly been the star of the show, but plenty of fans are piling the praise on Holgate, who has shown his versatility in recent weeks.
The 23 year-old has played at centre-back, defensive midfield and right back this season (Transfermarkt), and he was alongside Michael Keane in the heart of defence at St. James’ Park.
Fighting Andy Carroll for a million long balls is never easy, but the pair did a good enough job to come away with the all-important three points.
Per Whoscored, Holgate completed 88% of his passes and made two interceptions, four clearances and one block in a well-rounded display.
