Some Everton fans aren’t convinced by the decision to let Mo Besic leave

Everton supporters in the Transfer Tavern have been pretty upbeat in recent times after seeing their team make a solid start to the 2018/19 Premier League season.

Marco Silva’s men went into the campaign with renewed optimism following the appointment of the Portuguese as Sam Allardyce’s successor, and the positivity of supporters has so far been vindicated having win one and drawn the other of their opening two matches. The Toffees managed a 2-2 draw at newly-promoted Wolves on the first weekend of the season before backing that up with a 2-1 success over Southampton last time round, thus setting them up perfectly for their trip to Bournemouth on Saturday.

As such, there are many happy Evertonians up and down the country at present, several of whom have been reacting to the news that midfielder Muhamed Besic has officially joined Championship side Middlesbrough on loan for the entirety of the 2018/19 season.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international made the move to Goodison Park back in 2014 but has only managed 56 appearances for the Merseyside club, with injuries thwarting his progress with the Toffees.

In fact, the midfielder shone for Boro in the second half of last season while on loan at the Riverside Stadium to thus prompt manager Tony Pulis to want the 25-year-old back for the remainder of this season, which is a deal the Teessiders have got officially done in recent times.

And while some Everton fans are satisfied to see the back of Besic, some have taken to Twitter to suggest that their side may well have made a transfer mistake sanctioning the 25-year-old’s departure…
