According to the Liverpool website, midfielder Ovie Ejaria has been loaned to Championship strugglers Reading for the rest of the season.

The 21-year-old returned from his loan spell with Scottish giants Rangers last month, but was obviously not going to get into Liverpool's first team given the sensational season that they are having currently, and was subsequently loaned out to get more game time.

His loan spell at Rangers did not go too well, as he left Ibrox under a cloud. He was perhaps not known to have the greatest attitude either on or off the pitch, and failed to ingratiate himself with the Rangers faithful after some unsure performances. He played 28 times for The Gers, but failed to impress.

Therefore, there is the sense that this is now or never for the midfielder to prove himself at Liverpool. The Reds have so many midfielders currently and are playing at such a high level, that there is the feeling that Ejaria will never make the grade at Anfield.

The only thing the England under-21 international can do is embrace this opportunity in the Championship. Reading are crying out for a commanding figure in the midfield this season, and Ejaria could potentially be that man. He would have to learn from his time at Rangers and improve, but that is the point of loan spells, and both Liverpool fans and Reading fans will hope that he took heed from his former manager Steven Gerrard. Ejaria must really prove his worth over the next five months, as his Liverpool career is on the line.
