According to the Mail Online, Crystal Palace are reviving their interest in striker Michy Batshuayi, after a deal for Liverpool's Dominic Solanke fell through.

The Eagles were poised to land the struggling Liverpool forward on loan until the end of the season, but that does not appear to be happening now.

However, Palace are in desperate need for a striker this season, and are being attached to any player that is remotely available at the moment, and Batshuayi is one of those men.

The Belgium international is on loan at La Liga outfit Valencia at the moment from Chelsea, but is having a torrid time, only scoring once in 14 games for the Spanish giants in the league. He was deemed surplus to requirements for The Blues this season, despite having a hugely successful spell in the Bundesliga last season with Borussia Dortmund.

It will baffle many fans at Chelsea why the 25-year-old was released on loan, given the fact that the club are struggling with their strikers currently. Nonetheless, Maurizio Sarri did not see him as part of his plans.

Palace can take advantage of his troubling time in Spain and could lure him to Selhurst Park. This would clearly please the club, as they have been relying of Wilfried Zaha as a striker for the majority of this season, given the poor form of their other strikers. There is no question that he will strengthen The Eagles this season, but the player himself will also benefit as well.

In order to break into the Chelsea squad, there is a feeling that Batshuayi will need to impress in the Premier League, and Palace will give him the platform to do so.
