It’s never too early to be talking about transfers, and for Liverpool, it’s going to be a very interesting transfer window. The Reds have spent big and often over the last few windows, and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise to see more of the same in January.
One area that could do with an upgrade is the attack, specifically in the striking position. Beyond Roberto Firmino, options are limited, especially with regards to proven talent.
Having polled fans on whether he’d be a good signing, a whopping 71% of polled Liverpool fans responded to say that they’d like to see the Reds attempt to sign the Austrian ace.
Of courses, the West Ham man – who is rated at £22.5m by Transfer Markt – has enjoyed a good season for the Hammers, having bagged 5 goals in some undeniably tough conditions, given West Ham’s poor form.
If he were at Anfield and playing with better quality talent, you’d expect him to only get better, and that offers a fantastic prospect for the Reds.
He’s a different player to Firmino, too, and so the pair could even line-up together. Whatever the case, a move would be a popular one with supporters.
Thoughts?
