‘Proven goal machine’ - Man Utd fans want Woodward to snap up in-form attacker

It’s been a difficult start to the summer for Man Utd, with their side yet to really make the immediate splash that most fans will have wanted.

Jose Mourinho has a core group of players that he can rely on, but it’s clear that a big job still lies ahead of him. He needs to improve the team even more, and a few major acquisitions could be just the ticket.

Naturally, at this time of year, it’s always exciting to see who may be leaving and joining their respective clubs, and one player that looks on course for the former option is Robert Lewandowski.

According to Sport Bild, the Polish forward wants a new challenge – and is prepared to leave Bayern Munich in order to get it.

As of yet, his destination – if he even does end up leaving – remains to be seen, but you can bet that the Man Utd fans on Twitter are eager for him to move to Manchester.

The Pole has been sensational over the last few years, and he’s always been amongst the most deadly players for club and country. A stunning 29 goal league tally last season goes some way to indicating the sort of form he’s in.

Man Utd, of course, already have Romelu Lukaku to call upon, but that doesn’t appear to be putting fans off. Indeed, some are viewing him as the perfect partner or, indeed, rival, for the Belgian hitman. One fan is also drawing parallels between him and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Given both are lethal and have a strong physical presence, that’s not a bad comparison to draw, and the Red Devils did miss the Swede at points last season – and so replacing him makes sense.
